The conclusion drawn from a written survey conducted by the Energy Efficiency Department of the Vardar Planning Region, based in Negotino, revealed that citizens are taking responsibility for their energy consumption and paying attention to various aspects of energy efficiency. According to the Mayor of Negotino, Goran Stojanov, 140 citizens were surveyed and asked 10 questions related to energy efficiency. Results showed that 77.14% of respondents understood the concept of energy efficiency, 68.57% implemented energy efficiency measures in their homes, 80% believed that the municipality had potential for renewable energy sources, and 77.14% agreed that energy efficiency had a significant impact on the environment. The survey also showed that 64.23% of citizens had installed solar collectors for hot water, 84.28% would consider photovoltaic systems for electricity production for personal use, and even 91.42% of respondents took the energy class of household appliances into account when purchasing. The survey highlighted the importance of energy efficiency in the daily lives of citizens in the municipality of Negotino.
