According to reports, a passenger train traveling from Prakhov to Zajecar derailed from the tracks at the Trnavac station in eastern Serbia while departing from the third track with one of the axles. The incident occurred today around 11 a.m., as reported by Radio Television Serbia (RTS). The Serbian national service stated that there were no injuries in the incident, and the responsible authorities for Serbia’s railway infrastructure reported no interruptions in traffic. A rescue train was immediately sent to the site to clear the aftermath of the incident in order to get the train back on track as soon as possible. In the past few months, there have been several train derailments in Serbia, with the most significant problem being the overturning of ammonia tanker wagons in Pirot. On December 25th, the incident in Pirot resulted in over 50 people being hospitalized due to symptoms of poisoning, and residents of surrounding areas were advised not to leave their homes. On January 27th of this year, two phosphoric acid tanker wagons derailed in the city of Zajecar in eastern Serbia. The two derailed wagons were part of a freight train with twelve wagons and were the eighth and ninth wagons from the locomotive. Three days earlier, on January 24th, three propylene tanker wagons derailed near Subotica in northern Serbia.
