Law professor Ana Pavlovska Daneva has called for a review of the properties owned by judges and prosecutors in Macedonia. She said such a review would be necessary, healthy and beneficial for judges who have not broken the law. An investigation by the anti-corruption commission revealed that three court presidents in Macedonia did not have sufficient cover for their properties. Daneva said checks on the source of funding for the properties owned by judges and prosecutors should be implemented, adding that a program to check on the financial status of 500 judges was attempted, but only the homes of the court presidents were checked. The professors argued that the authorities should take more action and not merely hold a press conference. No response has been issued from DKSK, the authority in charge of integrity in the judiciary.
