Police officers from the Border Crossing and Border Control Station Bogorodica found 20 migrants in a Citroen Jumper cargo vehicle with Kumanovo license plates, after the Smokvica checkpoint on the Gevgelija-Skopje highway, at 02:10 in the morning. According to the Ministry of Interior, the police officers signaled to stop the Citroen Jumper cargo vehicle with Kumanovo license plates, but the driver abandoned the vehicle. Upon inspection of the vehicle, 20 migrant individuals were found (18 from Congo, 1 from Cameroon, and 1 from Afghanistan). The migrants were moved to a reception-transit center for further processing, and the prosecutor was informed of the incident. After a thorough investigation and documentation of the case, appropriate charges will be brought.
