The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is “deeply concerned” about reports in the Russian and Serbian media that Serbia secretly delivered 3,500 Grad G-2000 missiles, manufactured by Serbian arms manufacturer Krusik, to Ukraine. Certain media outlets report that the missiles were transported from Serbia to Turkey, then to Slovakia, and finally to Ukraine. Krusik denies any involvement in the delivery of the missiles. Serbian Defence Minister, Milos Vucevic, dismissed the allegations as a question of international trade, stating that Serbia is not responsible for what private companies do with weapons bought on third-party markets. It is noteworthy that Serbia has not imposed any international sanctions against Russia since the Ukrainian invasion. However, the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ivica Dacic, hinted that Serbia could change course if necessary. The Croatian daily, Telegram, claims that the Russian media is distorting the story, and that the Grad G-2000 missiles came from the Serbian military’s reserve stocks and not from Krusik. Serbia’s possible involvement in arms smuggling to Ukraine could have implications for Russia-Serbia relations.
