The Ministry of Economy has almost completed its analysis of freezing prices on certain products, particularly pasta and dairy products. The decisions will be made by the end of the week or during the following week, according to the Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi. He added that all products listed in the government’s decision to freeze commercial margins will be analyzed. Bekteshi accused bread producers, who held a press conference on Monday, of selling bread at night for 50 denars, breaking the law and not providing fiscal receipts. He called on institutions to control “dishonest producers.” Bekteshi announced that subsidies for electric power will be abolished for public utility companies if they want to increase water prices. He warned that if they continue to do so, he will also abolish subsidized electric power. Bekteshi said that while he is in the Ministry of Economy’s management, these companies will not be able to meet him, given that “when the measure was announced, they broke it while working illegally.”
