The Bulgarian Ambassador to Macedonia, Angel Angelov, spoke at the celebration of Bulgaria’s National Day on March 3rd in Skopje, stating that dialogue is at the core of diplomacy and diplomats must build bridges. He emphasized the importance of mutual chemistry in achieving meetings and contacts, stating that their role as diplomats is to be chemists. He also spoke about the challenges posed by Russia’s aggression on Ukraine, and the importance of Macedonia’s membership in NATO. He noted that Macedonia has the opportunity to start genuine negotiations with the EU after fulfilling its obligations adopted by the Parliament and the EU Council, which is important for modernizing society, rule of law, ecology, defense, education, and more. The fact that bilateral trade has increased to one billion euros in 2022, for the first time in history, shows that the direction is good and that good neighborly relations cannot be replaced. Angelov concluded by saying that time is in their hands and they will continue their programs and projects to support the country.
