Four children, aged between 6 months and 5 years old, died in an apartment fire in the Jaliya neighborhood of Novi Pazar. The fire broke out around 7 am and the fire brigade, emergency services, and police arrived at the scene immediately. According to unofficial reports from Belgrade media, the four children were found dead in the apartment. The father of the injured children was severely burned, with second, third and fourth-degree burns covering 45% of his body surface area, and their mother was also severely burned. Two passers-by saw the fire and tried to help, but were unable to get close enough due to the intense flames.
