Elvin Veli, the President of the Association of Prosecutors, believes that the tradition of the children of judges and prosecutors inheriting their parents’ positions is a beautiful tradition, but in their country, it is nepotism. Veli himself is the child of a judge and believes that the children of the justice department should not be discriminated against and should be given equal opportunities to be part of the justice system. Veli experienced this discrimination firsthand because of his father’s profession. He faced several problems in his work due to his father’s profession. He always had to be reserved, and there were things he couldn’t say or do because of it. He has worked as an independent lawyer, prosecutor, and even in the courts and faced the same problems everywhere.
Veli believes that following in his parent’s footsteps as a judge was natural for him, as he was exposed to law his entire life. His father was initially against him being a lawyer, but he allowed him to follow his dreams. Veli believes that everyone should have equal opportunities and access to the justice system, and the criteria for entering the academy and the justice system should be the same for everyone.
