Tito Petkovski believes that there is a big gap between the political parties in the country. He thinks that they have never come together to negotiate on issues of national interest. Petkovski stated that Bulgaria is now our only open and sole enemy since they do not recognize our language, ethnicity, and origin. He also accused the Bulgarian politicians of supporting the denial of Bulgaria’s alliance with Hitler and the Triple Alliance in 1941. He said that they need to acknowledge it and apology for it. Furthermore, he asserted that the political parties of Macedonia should initiate the constitutional changes while denouncing the Bulgarian propaganda.
The discussion around the proposed constitutional changes raised a primitive and aggressive atmosphere towards Bulgaria. Both SDSM and VMRO’s supporters need to acknowledge that they are unwittingly falling into Bulgaria’s trap. Petkovski called for both parties to come together to address national issues of importance. The open hostility between the two countries shows the need for the political parties to come together for the greater good.
