The police in Pirot have arrested M.M. (55) on suspicion of killing his former partner S.M. (47) in the center of the city, in a pedestrian zone. According to witnesses, there was only one gunshot heard and then S.M. fell onto the fruit crates where she was buying fruits. “She came to the counter in front of the store and started selecting fruit. She was standing half a meter away from me. In that moment, she was talking to someone on the phone, asking what to buy. I heard a terrifying gunshot. I saw her lying in a pool of blood. The monster shot her in the head from behind,” said eyewitness Svetomir Jovanovic. M.M. voluntarily surrendered to the police and reportedly handed over the weapon used to commit the murder. S.M. suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died on the spot.
